From Lucy’s foster:
Meet Lucy Lou! Lucy is a 6-month-old Doberman. Lucy is such a sweetie and it is a mystery to me how anyone could have ever given her up. She is the best dog, and not just for a puppy. She is giving our 3 year-old a run for her money! Little Lucy is house trained, does great in a crate and is very, very friendly with other furry friends – cats included! Lucy loves to play fetch and will go barreling down the hallway full speed to get a tennis ball—which is quite funny, because she is still trying to figure out how to use those long lanky limbs of hers. We like to joke that she is “in her awkward teenage years.” Because she will try to jump on the couch, but will miss completely and will then look around confused, as if she has no idea what happened. Or she won’t stop in time when chasing a ball down our hallway and will fly into the cabinets. She is quite funny to watch :) Lucy loves tennis balls, playing fetch, playing tug-of-war with her foster sister, getting belly rubs, and eating!! She is a big fan jerky!!
Lucy listens so well and is such a fast learner! She already knows a handful of commands like, no, sit, and down. We are working on her leash manners as well as boundaries! She has so much love to give, so she will sometimes just throw herself into you for some kisses or a hug. In the short time we have had her she is already doing much better with this. She has met a few kids on our walks and has been perfectly fine with them. However, due to her wild nature and tendency to throw herself on you – I am not sure a very small child would be a good idea in her forever home. But that’s not to say she couldn’t learn!
